The Indian & the White Guy!
South Dakota Holstein Breeders are to be commended on an excellent kick-off to convention, complete with one of the most popular President’s Receptions in years! Food was plentiful, a short talk from Secretary of Agriculture Larry Gabriel was both uplifting and informational, and the entertainment of comedy duo Williams and Ree was exceptional! With 247 tickets sold to the dinner, laughter was continuous during the entire Williams and Ree, or the Indian and the White Guy, performance. If you ever want to hear more about their routine, just ask someone who attended what they think of ‘Select a Sire’ or ‘The 9-year-old pilot and the 82-year-old flight attendant’ or ‘The Strawberry Rhubarb Riesling’!
Other convention highlights — Happy belated birthday to John & Bonnie Mohr’s youngest son, Zachary, who celebrated his 5th birthday in Sioux Falls! Tomorrow will be Host Day tours - each tour packed with a full day’s worth of farm visits - check back for our reports soon!!!
Rumor has it that a fierce competition broke out between juniors from Iowa and Washington in a game of pool volleyball this afternoon across the street at the Ramada. We haven’t heard who was the successful state winner yet….
