Breeder’s Minute

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

As more and more people get to the Greenlea VI Sale this morning, we have had a chance to catch up with several breeders who are looking forward to the start of the show season. One such person was Julie Butler Hemp of M&J Heifer Care, Chebanse, IL. Julie says that their first outing of the season will be at the Ohio Spring Show in Columbus. “We’re really excited about a couple young Ayrshires that have lots of potential, including the HM All-Canadian Fall Calf, Princess. We are also working with a Dundee winter yearling from John Cannon in Iowa, as well as Kamlake Frangel Mirage who is a nice Goldwyn winter yearling of George Kasbergen’s.” Austin Rademacher’s 2008 All-American and Junior All-American Fall Calf, Maheufils Goldwyn Melinda, will be another M&J heifer to watch this year!
