The Wilstar Complete Dispersal is completed and the prices stayed strong all day as 188 live lots averaged $5,221. Cattle sold to 17 states and 2 foreign countries.

The fitting crew under the watchful eye of Joel Kietzman had the large lineup of cattle prepared superbly. The sale was managed by Tom Morris, Ltd and clerked by Sandy Morris and her efficient staff. Roger Turner read pedigrees and Gary Estes assisted Birthday Boy Tom Morris with the auctioneering duties.

Roger noted Tom’s birthday as “59 plus 1″…Tom, can that be right??

Wilstar Dispersal is underway!

After a good rain in the morning, the skies have cleared in Poy Sippi, WI and a massive crowd has turned out for the Wilstar Complete Dispersal.

The beautiful Wilstar farmstead is the site of the sale. Over 258 live and embryo lots are being sold today.

WS Lot 62
The red cow that caught everybody’s eye – Lot 62 – Wilstar-RS Tlt Limited-Red (EX-92 94-MS) sold for $52,000. Limited traces back to tora Triple Threat Lulu (EX-96) and looks to make some noise in the show ring later this year. She was purchased by MilkSource Genetics of Kaukauna, WI.

WS Lot 98
Glenn-Ann Shottle Pepper-ET – a newly scored EX daughter of Shottle from five generations VG & EX cows sold for $27,000 to Second-Look Holsteins of Eden, WI. Fresh with her 2nd calf at the end of April, she carries a +2135 CTPI and already has five sons in AI.

WS Lot 97
Another black Shottle daughter followed soon after and the high prices continue! Miss Shottle Alison-ET, a 11/07 heifer from MS BMS Durable Adorable-ET (EX-92). Her third dam is 3E-97 Shoremar S Alicia-ET, the renowned All-American. Alison brought $22,000 from John & Joan Judd of LaFollette Holsteins, Mt. Horeb, WI.

WS Lot 1
Lot #1 in the catalog was the 2008 All-American R&W Milking Yearling – Wilstar SS Dixierose-Red-ET. Now VG-88 EX-MS, Dixierose sold due next year to Debonair-Red. Out of 3E-94 Farmdale Integrity Dixie – one of the founding matriarchs of Wilstar. Dixierose brought $18,500 from Springbrook Farm of Marshall, IN.

WS Lot 92
Regancrest-Lov JS Briann-ET, a 6/07 Jet Stream daughter of Nors Bianca Outside Brita (EX-90) then back into the Barbie family from Regancrest.
Due in September to Sanchez, Briann sold for $14,900.

WS Lot 194
2nd-Look Durham Juba 3433-ET (2E-95 GMD), the All-WI 125,000 Lb Cow in 2008 sold for $16,700 to the Phoenix Bros of Greenbank, ON. Her 3/07 Toystory daughter followed her into the sale ring and brought $11,000.

The sun was going down by the time the World rolled into Wilstar, but there was still a big crowd admiring the herd, enjoying some food and doing some socializing on a beautiful spring evening in Wisconsin.

The crew at Wilstar left the cows bagged until the end of the viewing. The full, full catalog highlights the deep pedigrees that are prevalent throughout the herd.

The talk of the barn – Lot #62 – Wilstar-RS Tlt Limited-Red – just attained the maximum score of EX-92 yesterday and looked every bit the part. A 10th generation VG or EX, she traces back to Tora Triple Threat Lulu EX-96.
