Judges’ comments “Ladies and gentlemen, lets give these exhibitors a round of applause. George made the comment earlier that usually my wife and my daughter are out judging shows and I’m home working. And I have to tell you that these three cows I pulled out are the kinds of cows I’d like to take home with me (4-year-old and 2 125,000-lb. cows). When I’m home, I’m always thinking about how to make the next great cow and these three are the types of cows we need in the breed. But today, I’m going with the 4-year-old. I just love her – she’s on the money. When she came out today, it was all about her. I just love her beautifully attached udder and the youthful way that udder hangs. She’s got an advantage over our 125,000-lb. cow in overall length of body and she’s just a little more comfortable in the way she moves. I will admit that our 125,000-lb. cow has a definite advantage in overall depth of body. But congratulations to everyone!”

Judge Myers’ Reasons:
For our Jr. Champion of our open show we have a number of Juniors back in here and I also brought out our 1st Spring Yearling and 1st Fall Calf. The fall calf is just a super balanced heifer and has a real combination of strength & diaryness with great eye appeal and width throughout. Our spring yearling is just an extremely stylish individual. I’d like to see a little more rib but I love the way she blends together. But it comes down to our fall calf and winter calf, and the fall calf is going to be Jr. Champion for her advantage in the leg set. They are both exceptional individuals and two lovely representatives of our breed.
