Ratliff Proof of Progress Sale Underway
The Ratliff Proof of Progress Sale is underway here in sunny, yet windy, Garnett, KS. Ron and Christy Ratliff have offered up 100 of their best Jerseys and a nice crowd is here for what is sure to be a great sale. Andrew Vander Muelen welcomed the crowd and introduced Ron & Christy, while Robert Yeoman spoke about the herd and watching Christy develop it. It was also announced at the beginning that all the buyers would be entered in a drawing for a free aspiration from Trans-Ova.

It’s a little chilly here today with the wind, Lot 1 – Alicia’s Sambo Winter Calf – is bundled up and ready to sell..

The first one through the ring was lot 33 – a fancy fall calf that’s a granddaughter of Avonlea D Jude Karmel (EX-94). Karmel has 10 EX and 15 VG daughters to date!

Lot 1 in the ring – Alicia’s Sambo daughter would sell for $13,000 and a pick of her 4 Action females due in November sold for $15,000.

An early highlight in the sale was the choice of Lots 10 & 11 – Sambo Sr. 2-Year-Old full sisters out of Ratliff Jade Maisy (EX-94), then Pleasant Nook Rene Myriah (EX-95), then seven more generations of Excellent! The pick sold for $20,000 and the buyer, purchased by International Genetics from Canada, chose Lot 11.

Ratliff Maximizer Velvet, Lot 46, a winter yearling for 2010 sold for $5,600

Lot 64 – Ratliff Kolton Julie, is a Winter Calf granddaughter of PH Jewel (EX-96). She sold for $6,200.

Lot 71 was a first choice female from Ratliff King Snickers (VG-89 2y.) who was on hand to parade in the ring while the pick brought $7,300.
