International Intrigue Preview!
The International Intrigue Sale will take place tomorrow at Ferme Blondin in St-Placide, QC. The lineup is a marvelous mix of elite show animals, high genomic heifers and plenty of high-type, high-producing cows. It’s been a beautiful week in Quebec and the farm of Simon Lalande and Kim Cote is a picture perfect setting for the sale!
The Holstein World is on the scene and got a few early preview pictures this morning. The fitting crew has done a great job and it’s a quiet, relaxed group of cattle that are resting up for the big day tomorrow.

The sale cattle are being housed in the upper barn – it’s a quiet, relaxed bunch this morning!

Lot 1 – Of course, she’s the talk of the sale! Here is RockyMountain Talent Licorice (VG-89-CAN) getting a few pre-sale touches. The All-Canadian 3-Year-Old in 2010, Licorice has been 1st 4-Year-Old and Grand Champion at both the Quebec International Spring Show and the New York International Spring Show in 2011. She is offered by the sale hosts, Ferme Blondin.

Lot 4 – MD-Hillbrook Sunburst-Red-ET (VG-89-CAN) – Unanimous All-American and All-Canadian Fall Yearling in 2010, Sunburst freshened in February with a gorgeous udder. She was the winning Senior 2-Year-Old in both the red & white and black & white shows at the New York International Spring Show earlier this spring.

Lot 7 – Willowholme Goldwyn Jessica (EX-92-CAN) – Fresh in June, Jessica will show as a 5-year-old this year. She was Grand Champion at the 2010 Maxville Spring Show and nominated All-Quebec 4-year-old in 2010.

Lot 52 – Toddsdale Shottle Razi-ET, a 3/11 Shottle daughter of Long-Haven Gold Rochelle – the All-American and All-Canadian Junior 2-Year-Old in 2009. Rochelle is fresh again and looks to be on the colored shavings again this fall!

Added entry – Lot 111 – Sagamie Tee Off Alli, a 12/10 Rietben Tee Off that was Reserve Junior Champion this summer at Chicoutimi Expo.

The Blondin milking herd in the lower barn – about 80 cows reside here.

Lots of helping hands from the Lalande and Cote families are putting the finishing touches on the sale ring.
