The Delaware Junior Dairy Futurity
Summer Calves-All Breeds

Saturday evening, July 21st at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington, the livestock animals have an annual Supreme extravaganza for the best of the best among their species. In order for dairy to have something equivalent to that show, they began their own futurity. Instead of cows, though, they show summer yearlings so that all the lease kids in the state who are unable to show cows have the opportunity to still present themselves and their animals under the spotlight.

The futurity is organized by John Hickey, and this year Matt Fry served as the official judge.

Sixth-Tenth Place- $75
Best Bred and Owned- $100
Class Award- $50

The Best Bred and Owned is presented by the Holstein Association to honor the many contributions of Sam and Myrtle Dixon to the young people involved in the Delaware Dairy Industry. This year’s winner was Miss Laura Emerson.
