Ontario Summer Show Senior Three-Year-Old class wows

by in Uncategorized | July 31, 2013

There are several classes you witness in person that you never forget.  Many people can vividly remember Integrity Paradise and Highlight Tamara go head to head in the Six-Year-Old & Older Cow class at World Dairy Expo in 2002 with Paradise edging out Tamara.  Paradise and Tamara would of course go on to be Grand and Reserve Champion of the International Holstein Show that year.  Other heavy hitters in that class were Shoremar S Alicia and Parile Wind Vedette who stood 3rd and 4th respectively.  These are the kind of classes ‘cow people’ dream of.

For many, including myself, the Senior Three-Year-Old class at the Ontario Summer Show was one of those classes.  I was taking pictures for the show that day and couldn’t keep my finger off the camera because the class was just that exciting.  In fact, as I was uploading the 99 pictures I took during that class I heard someone from the crowd say, “I haven’t seen a class that strong in a long time.”  Granted there were only nine cows in the class, but boy were they nine really good cows.  The class was led off with Valleyville Rae Lynn, who I’m sure most remember last year from the Royal where she stood 1st for part of the Senior Two-Year-Old class before ultimately coming in second to Butz-Butler Gold Barbara-ET.  Rae Lynn certainly looked the part for her owners Quality Holsteins, Granja Ponderosa & Al-Be-Ro Land & Cattle, and as someone who saw her from many different angles; she looked good from every single one.  Following her in second was another Sanchez daughter, Raivue Sanchez Pamela, owned by Raivue Farms Ltd., Robrook Farms Ltd. & Superior Polled Genetics.  Standing third was the Reserve Grand Champion of the Maxville Holstein Show, Desnette Alexia Roseplex, owned by Ferme Yvon Sicard & Desnettes Holsteins.

Valleyville Rae Lynn and Raivue Sanchez Pamela went on to be named Reserve and Honorable Mention Grand Champion, respectively. If this class is any indication of what the fall shows are going to bring, then we’re all in store for some once in a lifetime classes.
